Bhola Sikarwar Murder Accused Caught After Brief Encounter in Gwalior

Gwalior, India: Police in Gwalior arrested a key accused in the high-profile Bhola Sikarwar murder case following a brief encounter late Monday night. The suspect, who had been on the run since the June 2 shooting, was apprehended after being shot in the leg while trying to escape.

The incident took place near Hazira police station, just 300 metres from Energy Minister Pradyumn Singh Tomar’s residence — the same area where gangster Bhola Sikarwar was gunned down earlier this month. Police had been tracking the accused and closed in on him when he attempted to flee. After ignoring warnings to stop, he was shot and captured.

Sikarwar, who had over 20 criminal cases against him, was allegedly killed by a rival gang led by Bunty Bhadoria. The murder followed an ongoing feud between the two gangsters, which had spilled onto social media.

In the days following the murder, Bhadoria posted a video taking responsibility for the killing and accusing Sikarwar of past violence and intimidation. The police are now investigating the social media exchanges and CCTV footage to identify other suspects involved in the shooting.

The accused is currently being treated at a government hospital and remains under police custody. A reward of ₹10,000 had been announced earlier for any leads in the case. Authorities say more arrests are likely as the investigation progresses.
